Created by Mike Meade and Mike Gaughen of BeaverTap Games and published by Noodlecake Studios Mikey Shorts is a fun speedrunning platformer that is sure to take you back to the good old days when you and your friends plunked down on your living room sofa and played Super Mario.
While Mikey Shorts may not be in the same league as Mario, it does hold enough good natured fun to keep you entertained for a few hours. The game has a story mode which will have you running, jumping, and sliding over platforms this time to rescue people who have turned into statues. There are of course coins to collect, as well as golden shorts, which are cleverly hidden in the game (probably a good enough reason for replaying.)
The Challenge Mode pits you against the time factor and your priority is to make it to the finish line as quickly as possible. For a bit of variety, you can try the Ghost mode where you will race your ghost to better your scores. You will be able to earn up to 3 stars depending on how quick you make it to the finish line. You can view your stats and compare your best scores with other players as well.
There are 84 different levels in the game and they take place across 6 beautiful environments. There are options to deck up Mikey with over 170 disguises as well as customize the simple game controls to suit your style of play.
