Earlier this month it was revealed by Square Enix that the first eight Dragon Quest titles are being ported to mobile devices in Japan. While this is exciting news, it did leave some people wondering how they would fair on a touchscreen mobile device. However, there is now footage showcasing how players move around and interact in the Dragon Quest 8 world using touchscreen controls.
The footage shows Dragon Quest 8 running seemingly smoothly (although seems to have slight framerate issues) in portrait mode. Hopefully, landscape mode orientations are included. We shall see if any changes or tweaks come about in upcoming weeks. Also worth mentioning in the Dragon Quest realm is that Cloud gaming company Ubitus announced recently that it is working with Square Enix to bring Dragon Quest 10 to mobile devices this winter and gameplay can be controlled with either touchscreen or bluetooth controller.
