Last May Rubicon released a teaser trailer on an upcoming title called Combat Monsters which is slated to be a deck building turn based strategy game. Well recently Rubicon has come out and given more details on Combat Monsters and I must say it looks like a pretty good game.
The basic premise of Combat Monsters is the same in most deck building titles and in writing does sound extremely simple. But basically in Combat Monsters you assemble your team of monsters and beasts and then pit them against other teams in turn based matches. Gameplay has been described as having the combat of a JRPG with the deck building aspect of Magic: The Gathering with a fully explorable 3D board world. In total there are to be 132 monsters, 70 weapons, 42 spells and 28 sets of armor cards that you can pick and choose your best deck from.
As of now do definite launch date for Combat Monsters is known but it is said to be coming out before the end of the year. Combat Monsters will also be available on PC, iOS, Android and Blackberry and you can link your account to any of these devices so you can play your same file on your PC and your Android phone. Also multiplayer matches will be between any of the devices so you can play against iOS owners or Blackberry owners instead of just Android users. So keep an eye out for Combat Monsters and we here at AndroidGaming will also keep you posted as news gets released!
