Yasumi Matsuno is a man who needs no introduction. The legendary video game designer who created complex and vibrant worlds in titles such as Final Fantasy® Tactics, Vagrant Story® and Final Fantasy® XII is joining hands with Playdek to unleash an ambitious tactical RPG called Unsung Story: Tale of the Guardians.
Unsung Story is set in the fantasy world of Rasfalia and covers the seventy-seven years war that was fought between the empires and kingdoms within. The game plays out in episodes from the point of view of different heroes who engage in various battles during the game’s timeline. Some of the battles last for a year, while others stretch for as long as a decade. You will explore Rasfalia and relive the battles by being a part of the choices and decisions that these unsung heroes made in the course of their lifetime.
The battles themselves are diverse in that in one battle you may lead a group of knights to protect an empire, while in another you may lead a group of revolutionaries to bring down an empire. They take place in 3D worlds with multiple classes that bring their unique characteristics which you can mix and match to suit your tactical requirements.
Playdek is knocking at your door to make their visionary game a reality. They are seeking $600,000 in funding for iOS, Android and PC platform releases. The stretch goals extend all the way up to 3.2 million dollars and if you are wondering what you are likely to get for $3.2 million, you’ll have to check out their Kickstarter campaign and do your little bit too!
