Nooskewl Pushes its 16-Bit RPG Crystal Picnic (in Alpha) to Ouya at a Great Price

Nooskewl is so excited about its next Ouya release Crystal Picnic that it has decided to let players grab the Alpha version of the game at a pretty price. The game is currently 30% done, with release updates happening regularly, at least once a week.

In Crystal Picnic, the duck and duo friends of Egbert and Frogbert set out to discover why ants have been stealing crystals from the Crystal Castle. Along the way they are joined by another lovable character rabbit Bisou and the trio seem to be having a whale of a time on their adventures.

There will be two main modes in the game. The field mode will be like an old school RPG where players will get an overhead view of their exploratory activities, while in the Battle mode you can play side scrolling platforming action much like Smash Bros. to combat your enemies.

There is a very short demo available here, if you wish to check it out. The game looks very promising indeed with plenty of delightful 16-bit goodness, great list of features, cool graphics, and plenty of humor.

As the game progresses, the price of the game will rise, so if you want to get into the action before it hits $9.99, you can click on this link and get going right away.
